Job Summary/Basic Function

We are in search of a skilled and motivated Network & Security Engineer to be a key contributor to our technology team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure and security solutions that safeguard our organization’s digital assets and ensure seamless connectivity. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of networking protocols, security best practices, and emerging technologies, along with the ability to deliver innovative solutions that address complex network and security challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Network Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performance network architecture, ensuring optimal connectivity for both on-premises and cloud environments. Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations to meet evolving business needs.
• Security Implementation: Develop and enforce network security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats. Implement firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
• Incident Response: Monitor network traffic and security alerts to proactively detect and respond to potential security breaches and vulnerabilities. Coordinate incident response efforts, investigate security incidents, and recommend corrective actions.
• Network Optimization: Analyze network performance and implement optimizations to enhance speed, reliability, and efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
• Vendor Management: Evaluate and collaborate with technology vendors to source and implement network and security solutions that align with organizational goals. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and security policies. Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and mitigation strategies.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with IT teams and stakeholders to provide guidance on network and security best practices and contribute to technology-related initiatives.
• Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and advancements in networking and security technologies. Pursue relevant certifications and continuous learning opportunities to enhance skills and expertise.

Requirements and skills

• Expertise in configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Familiarity with security tools, intrusion detection systems (IPS), and data encryption technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CompTIA Security+, and CISSP) are a strong plus.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.

Experiences:

• Proven experience (3+ years) in network engineering and security, with a strong understanding of networking protocols and security frameworks.
